About The Position

The Nursing Assistant works at Select Medical Rehabilitation Hospital at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The inpatient rehabilitation hospital provides care for individuals facing brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The position is full-time nights, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with compensation of $18.00 to $21.94 per hour plus shift differentials for nights and weekends. The role includes gathering patient information and vital signs, assisting with personal care and daily activities, supporting nutrition, positioning and mobility, and transporting patients. Requirements

High school diploma/GED or relevant work experience of at least 3 years.
BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
Complete post-offer employment testing (POETs) before the first day of work.

Nice To Haves

Hospital experience as a nursing assistant.
Nursing assistant certification.
Experience in a related field, such as medical assistant work or being an actively enrolled RN student.

Responsibilities

Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
Assist patients with personal and daily care, including bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care.
Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients who cannot feed themselves, and document oral intake.
Turn and position immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment, and participate in the mobility program.
Transport patients to designated areas, including to and from treatment centers.
