Nursing Assistant 9N ACE
About The Position
The Nursing Assistant provides care to patients according to their plan of care, unit routines, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role includes safely transporting patients by wheelchair or stretcher, providing dispatch services, and documenting services. The Nursing Assistant may serve as an observer for patients assessed as requiring constant observation, either in person or through remote video monitoring, to support patient safety. The position also performs receptionist and clerical duties to help the nursing unit function efficiently and documents care in the electronic medical record. The position is on 9 North ACE, a 29-bed specialty unit caring for medical patients aged 65 and older, including patients with varied medical conditions and comorbidities. The unit specializes in acute care of older adults and provides additional geriatric training. Nursing assistants and clinical assistants receive Geriatric Patient Care Associate training through NICHE. The unit offers a diverse, collaborative environment focused on compassionate care, learning, and professional growth.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
- Current CNA certification preferred.
Responsibilities
