About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU care to chronically and critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants provide compassionate care to patients during recovery. This is a per diem/PRN day-shift position in Wilmington, Delaware, with 12-hour shifts. Compensation is $24.00 per hour, with additional differentials for weekend shifts. The role includes an extensive orientation program and may provide a path to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per diem employees may qualify for a 401(k) after reaching 1,000 hours during their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or at least three years of relevant work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Clean instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
