About The Position

The Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs basic nursing assistant procedures learned through outside training and certification. The CNA practices medical asepsis, respects each patient's dignity and privacy, maintains objectivity during patient care, follows basic hospital safety policies and procedures, and works within the scope of their training. The CNA works under the close supervision of a Registered Nurse, receives specific written and oral work assignments, and is expected to complete them during the scheduled shift. The role is on a 35-bed Med/Surgical unit with a multidisciplinary team providing care to complex surgical and medical patients. Patient populations may include general surgery, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, ENT, plastics, and general medicine. The position is 0.7 FTE and rotates between day and night shifts, working eight-hour shifts with every-other-weekend and holiday rotation. The employee must be available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the first week of employment for CNA orientation.

Requirements

State of Wisconsin certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Currently CPR certified or eligible for certification.
Available during the first week of employment from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for CNA orientation.
