About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect care to patients on a 35-bed medical/surgical unit caring for complex surgical and medical patients. Patient populations may include general surgery, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, ENT, plastics, and general medical patients. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and care standards. The role includes supervising select delegated nursing acts and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members. The schedule includes night shifts of 8- and 12-hour shifts, with every-other-weekend and holiday rotation. The first two weeks of employment must be available on day shift for orientation.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program; other nursing degrees will be considered individually.
• Previous patient care experience, which may be gained as a student in a clinical setting.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Wisconsin.
• Current CPR certification or eligibility to complete certification within three months of hire.
• Availability to attend day-shift orientation during the first two weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care procedures and nursing skills acquired through graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and care standards.
• Provide direct and indirect patient care.
• Supervise select delegated nursing acts.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
