About The Position

Sanford Health is hiring a Nursing Assistant to provide patient-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned patients during scheduled work periods, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This role serves neuro medical and neurosurgery patients, along with a variety of general Med-Surg patients, in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. The position is scheduled for 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week. Weekends are not required; two or three holidays per year are required.

Requirements

Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
If working in North Dakota without Certified Nursing Assistant status, be listed on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training and competency validation or within a maximum of four months from initial employment.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) is preferred, but not required.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with basic health care needs and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal preparation, and dining needs.
Attend to patients’ emotional and spiritual needs.
Administer delegated tasks and treatments.
Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
Collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed.
Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
Prepare patient treatment areas and medical equipment for use; clean equipment and dispose of biomedical waste according to standards and policy.
Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.
Provide one-on-one care to patients when necessary for safe care.
