About The Position

Helen M Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital, a UPMC and Select Medical partnership, is hiring a Nursing Assistant in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The inpatient rehabilitation hospital provides care for people facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The schedule is 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend and rotating holidays. Compensation is $19.70–$24.00 per hour, based on years of experience, with night and weekend shift differentials. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered. The role includes assisting patients with personal care, meals, mobility, positioning, and transport, as well as collecting and documenting patient information. Requirements

High school diploma/GED or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
Complete post-offer employment testing (POETs) before the first day of work.

Nice To Haves

Hospital experience as a nursing assistant.
Nursing assistant certification.
Experience in a related field, such as medical assistant work or active enrollment as an RN student.

Responsibilities

Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
Assist patients with personal and daily care, including bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care.
Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients who are unable to feed themselves, and document oral intake.
Turn and position immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment, and participate in the mobility program.
Transport patients to designated areas, including to and from treatment centers.
