About The Position
At Saint Francis Hospital, the Nursing Assistant assists physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions. The role includes collecting and reporting patient information, supporting patients with activities of daily living, transporting patients, collecting specimens, distributing linens and supplies, and monitoring at-risk patients as assigned. This is a full-time night-shift position with a 32-hour workweek and 8-hour shifts. The posted shift hours are 11 p.m. to 17 a.m. The pay range is $18.05–$25.60 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education; the range may vary by location. Saint Francis Hospital is a 617-bed Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, and a member of Trinity Health Of New England and Trinity Health. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proof with a college transcript, or significant nurse assistant or healthcare-related experience.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of a Connecticut-approved Nurse Aide Training Program, or be in the process of earning a bachelor's degree in Nursing or Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed.
- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
- Collect and report patient information and data.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility, and ambulation.
- Transport patients.
- Collect specimens.
- Distribute linens and supplies to patient rooms.
- Deliver ice and beverages to patients.
- Stay with at-risk patients as assigned to monitor patient safety.
