About The Position

AtlantiCare Rehabilitation Hospital, in partnership with Select Medical, is a 60-bed inpatient medical rehabilitation hospital serving patients in southeastern New Jersey. The hospital provides care for individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputations, and multiple traumas. The interdisciplinary team includes rehabilitation nurses, physical, occupational, and speech-language therapists, dietitians, case managers, and other clinical and support staff.

The Nursing Assistant supports patients with clinical observations, personal care, meals, safe positioning, mobility, and transport. This is a per diem/PRN role with day or night shifts and weekday and weekend requirements. The employer offers an extensive orientation program and notes that strong performance may lead to potential full-time opportunities.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting or active enrollment as an RN student.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal and daily care, including bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care.
• Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients who cannot feed themselves, and document oral intake.
• Safely turn and position immobile patients while maintaining proper body alignment, and participate in the mobility program.
• Transport patients to designated areas, including to and from treatment centers.
