About The Position

The Nursing Assistant supports nursing personnel in providing direct patient care and assists patients with daily activities. The role serves and collects food trays, provides between-meal nourishment, changes bed linen, runs errands, and prepares and sterilizes treatment trays and supplies. The Nursing Assistant transports patients within the facility for consultations, treatments, tests, or examinations; measures and records vital signs such as temperature or pulse; and provides basic treatment. The role also helps ensure a safe care environment for patients and their families, performs continuous rounds and check-ins throughout the shift to ensure their needs are met, and performs other related duties as assigned. This is a per-diem position with various 12-hour shifts on Gagnon 5 Non-Invasive Cardiac at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

BLS certification preferred.
CNA certification preferred.
Prior experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Support nursing personnel in providing direct patient care and assist patients with daily activities.

Transport patients within the facility for consultations, treatments, tests, or examinations.

Perform continuous rounds and check-ins throughout the shift to ensure patient and family needs are met.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
