Nursing Assistant- Med/Surg Acute Unit
About The Position
Pampa Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Surgical Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), also referred to as a CNA or Med-Surg CNA, to support patient care in its acute medical-surgical unit. The role assists patients with daily activities, mobility, feeding, and vital signs; monitors for changes in their condition; supports nurses with supplies and wound care; and helps maintain a clean, safe environment. Pampa Regional Medical Center is a 25-bed critical-access hospital in the Texas Panhandle that provides surgical and medical services, including heart care, emergency services, urgent care, and surgical services. The hospital is certified by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care and has received recognition for patient safety.
Requirements
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire is preferred.
- Current BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current certification.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute-care hospital or physician’s office is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Help patients with mobility, turning, repositioning, and transfers to help prevent skin breakdown.
- Feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake and output.
- Take and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
- Observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses.
- Assist with wound care under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms.
- Help keep the environment clean and safe.
- Assist with transporting patients within the hospital.
