Nursing Assistant- Med/Surg Acute Unit
About The Position
The Nurse Aid in the MED / SURG / Telemetry Department is an unlicensed assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients, and helps maintain a safe environment. The role works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. Pampa Regional Medical Center is a 25-bed critical-access hospital in the Texas Panhandle, providing surgical and medical services to its communities. It is a member of Prime Healthcare and offers services including heart care, emergency services, urgent care, and surgical services.
Requirements
- Current BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained as current.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire is preferred.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients.
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
