About The Position

Northeast Wisconsin Technical College is seeking a Part-Time Nursing Assistant Instructor to join their Health Sciences department. This role is integral to the college's mission of providing high-quality learning opportunities to students. The instructor will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing instruction, utilizing engaging strategies to foster student success. They will also advise and mentor students, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with faculty and staff. The position requires adherence to college policies and faculty quality assurance systems. Teaching assignments may include classroom and clinical rotations, with the possibility of non-standard hours including evenings, weekends, and summers.

Requirements

  • Associate degree and minimum two years as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 1 year in Long Term Care as a staff nurse or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At a minimum, occupational experience has to have occurred at least 1 year within the last 5 years.
  • Current or eligible for RN License in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Completion of DHS approved Train-the-Trainer course.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience with adult learners is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering instruction and assessment of learning outcomes.
  • Utilizing engaging instructional strategies and methodologies which foster student success both in and outside of the classroom.
  • Maintaining accurate student records and communication.
  • Advising and supporting students as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learning and career goals, including being accessible to students outside of scheduled classroom time.
  • Providing educational leadership and working effectively with faculty, administration, and campus support staff.
  • Maintaining Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required by other agencies to maintain individual and program accreditation.
  • Complying with College policies and practices related to instruction, assessment, and delivery.
  • Working non-standard hours including early am, evening, weekend and summer hours.
  • Teaching assignments will include classroom and/or clinical rotations with students.
