About The Position

Southcoast Health is a not-for-profit health system serving Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The Nursing Assistant I performs a variety of patient-care duties under the general supervision of an individually assigned Manager, Patient Care Services or designee. Duties include basic care, personal hygiene, mobility, nutritional support, maintaining the patient environment, and assisting licensed staff with related duties.

This is a per-diem position at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The evening shift is 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with weekend and holiday rotation. Pay is determined based on experience; the stated range is $19.56–$27.07 per hour.

Requirements

• Education equivalent to completion of four years of high school, plus additional specialized courses or training.
• Nursing Assistant Certification in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19, or qualify for and sign a statement electing an exemption for medical or personal reasons upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Training Program.
• Three months of experience in an acute care or long-term care setting.
