About The Position

Responsible for providing direct care to skilled nursing facility residents and serving their needs in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, within the scope of the nursing assistant role. Provides personal hygiene care and assists with nutritional needs; recognizes and deals with issues related to the aging process; promptly reports changes in resident condition to the shift nurse; and maintains a safe, clean, attractive, and neat environment. Must be aware of and prevent abuse of vulnerable adults in the care of the Essentia Health skilled nursing facility. Maintains awareness of safety issues, performs responsibilities safely, identifies safety hazards and emergency situations, and initiates corrective actions.

Requirements

• Current registration on the applicable state nursing assistant registry, or obtain registration within 4 months of hire or transfer date.
• If transitioning from the Nursing Assistant – Student position, registration is required upon hire or transfer.
