About The Position

Dungarvin is hiring a Nursing Assistant / CNA to provide person-centered care in a small residential group home, typically serving four or fewer individuals. The role supports people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, complex medical needs, and other support needs, promoting dignity, choice, independence, and community inclusion. The Nursing Assistant provides direct personal care and health-related support, helps individuals with daily routines and personal goals, and contributes to their care plans and programming in collaboration with supervisors and team members. Duties also include medication assistance and health-related tasks as trained and delegated, household responsibilities, mobility support, behavior support, transportation, and electronic documentation. Training and orientation are provided, including preparation for supporting individuals with challenging behaviors. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available with a variety of schedules. The starting wage is $24 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant training and competency evaluation program within the last 10 years; certification need not be current but must not be revoked. Certification, diploma, or transcripts must be provided. Higher education or training in the medical field may qualify in lieu of Nursing Assistant certification.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and provide direct care for extended periods.
Ability to safely transfer, reposition, and assist individuals according to established safety guidelines.
Ability to assist with mobility supports, including mechanical lifts (Hoyer lifts) and other adaptive equipment, as trained.
Ability to lift, move, push, pull, and/or assist with lifting up to 50 pounds.
Basic computer skills for documentation, communication, and tracking progress.
Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to accurately document care, follow support plans, and communicate effectively with team members, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
Genuine interest in supporting individuals with disabilities, complex medical needs, and diverse support needs.
Ability to provide person-centered care while promoting dignity, independence, and choice.

Responsibilities

Provide direct services, including personal care and health-related support.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to develop, implement, and support individual care plans and programming.
Assist with medication administration and health-related tasks as trained and delegated.
Prepare meals, clean the household, and assist with other activities of daily living.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
Support individuals with daily routines, skill development, and personal goals.
Assist with mobility needs, including transfers, mechanical lifts, positioning, and other physical support needs as trained.
Support individuals with complex medical needs and follow individualized care plans.
Use behavior support strategies, de-escalation techniques, and crisis prevention interventions as trained.
Monitor and communicate program, household, medical, behavioral, and maintenance needs to supervisors.
Transport individuals to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed.
Complete accurate and timely electronic documentation.
Provide person-centered support in all aspects of daily living while promoting dignity, choice, independence, and community inclusion.
