About The Position
The Nursing Aide assists licensed nursing staff with direct patient care and environmental maintenance of the nursing unit under the direction of a Registered Nurse and within the defined scope of practice. The role provides for patients’ personal care and safety needs promptly under licensed staff supervision, including procedures and testing specified in the patient’s plan of care. The Nursing Aide helps maintain an orderly unit with adequate supplies and equipment, contributes to communication that supports patient care and unit operations, and facilitates patient admissions, discharges, and transfers according to established policies and procedures. The position is on the 35-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit at Taylor Hospital. The unit provides a transitional setting between hospital and home for medically stable patients who are motivated and able to tolerate intensive therapy. The patient care team, including patients and their families, uses an individualized, team-based treatment approach.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), required by completion of orientation.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
- Current CNA certification preferred.
Responsibilities
