About The Position

The Nurse Tech Program at MultiCare in the Spokane Region offers a paid position for students enrolled in an accredited Registered Nurse program who have completed at least one academic term with a clinical rotation. This program is designed to support and accelerate the skills learned in nursing school. MultiCare provides career planning, opportunities to experience various work settings through rotations in different hospital areas based on interest and unit availability, and educational opportunities to advance career paths. Upon graduation, candidates are encouraged to apply for the MultiCare RN Transition to Practice Residency program. This is an entry-level nursing position requiring knowledge, judgment, and skill based on biological, physiological, behavioral, and sociological sciences, performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Requirements

  • Must have completed first term and a clinical rotation of an accredited program.
  • Currently enrolled as a student in accredited school preparing persons to practice as a Registered Nurse and completed at least one academic term which included a clinical component /OR Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing awaiting results of licensing exam for Registered Nurse, but no longer than 30 days past graduation.
  • Documentation of current clinical competencies from completed Nursing School course work.
  • Current State of Washington Nursing Technician Registered credential.
  • Current Health Care Provider level CPR certification.
  • Current BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital specific and float about every 18 weeks between units in which accept Nurse Techs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care applying current health concepts and performing routine duties to the level of academic competence accomplished in the individual’s educational program(s) under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Contribute to the assigned unit nursing team, functioning as a member of the unit.
  • Remain abreast of current trends/information in nursing and applies this knowledge/information to practice.
  • Attend required unit meetings/classes.
  • Apply knowledge, judgment, and skills as based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral, and sociological sciences.
