About The Position
The Nurse Tech Program at MultiCare Deaconess Hospital in Spokane is a paid opportunity for students enrolled in an accredited Registered Nurse program. This program is designed to support and accelerate the skills learned in nursing school. MultiCare provides career planning, opportunities to experience various work settings through rotations, and educational opportunities to advance career paths. Upon graduation, candidates are encouraged to apply for the MultiCare RN Transition to Practice Residency program. This is an entry-level nursing position requiring knowledge, judgment, and skill based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral, and sociological sciences, providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Requirements
- Current enrollment as a student in an accredited school preparing persons to practice as a Registered Nurse and completed at least one academic term which included a clinical component.
- OR Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing awaiting results of licensing exam for Registered Nurse, but no longer than 30 days past graduation.
- Documentation of current clinical competencies from completed Nursing School coursework.
- Current State of Washington Nursing Technician Registered credential.
- Current Health Care Provider level CPR certification.
- Completed first term and a clinical rotation of an accredited program.
- Current BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Opportunity to work between 6, 8, 10 and 12-hour shifts during the school year, based on availability.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care applying current health concepts and performing routine duties to the level of academic competence accomplished in the individual’s educational program(s) under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Contribute to the assigned unit nursing team, functioning as a member of the unit.
- Remain abreast of current trends/information in nursing and applies this knowledge/information to practice.
- Attend required unit meetings/classes.
- Apply knowledge, judgment, and skills as based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral, and sociological sciences.
