About The Position
INTEGRIS Health is hiring a part-time day-shift Nurse Tech for the Trauma Med Surg unit at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Nurse Tech provides personal care, supports patient safety, performs specified treatments and diagnostic testing, and carries out select sterile procedures within the role’s scope. Nurse Techs may not administer medications or independently assess patients. They may retrieve and transport medications. The position reports to the assigned Clinical leader. The role may involve additional or varied physical demands and respiratory fit-test requirements. Potential exposures include infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals. Standard precautions must be followed. Requirements
- Must have completed one semester of nursing school with clinical experience while attending an eligible state-accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS certification, or completion within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Perform personal patient care tasks, including mouth care, making beds, bathing, perineal care, hair care, shaving, backrubs, and emptying bedpans or urinals.
- Assist with patient safety, including checking identification armbands, following fall protocols and restraint requirements, positioning patients, promoting rest and sleep, and reporting incidents or injuries.
- Perform treatments such as urinary catheter care, enema administration, preparing sitz baths, applying compresses, and assisting with patient ambulation.
- Conduct and document basic diagnostic testing, including vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, 12-lead EKGs, telemetry monitoring, pulse oximetry, and Doppler testing.
- Perform select sterile procedures, including specimen collection, wound care, tracheostomy care and suction, urinary catheterization, and tube feedings.
- Retrieve and transport medications when needed.
- Follow standard precautions.
