About The Position

The Nurse Tech provides direct patient care under the direction of an RN or Provider and in accordance with clinical policies, procedures, and department standard work. The role collects and reports information about patients’ physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs in coordination with the RN or Provider, and contributes input to individualized plans of care. The Nurse Tech supports safe, quality, cost-effective care; explains the nursing technician role to patients, families, and health team members; and completes required documentation accurately and promptly. The position also involves cleaning patient environments, work areas, and equipment, and reporting equipment malfunctions. The Nurse Tech is expected to uphold ethical standards and protect the privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient, staff, and organization data.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ARC or AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collect and report patients’ physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs in coordination with and as directed by an RN or Provider.
• Provide direct patient care under the direction of an RN or Provider, following clinical policies and procedures and department standard work.
• Provide input in developing an individualized plan of care.
• Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Explain the nursing technician role to patients, families, and health team members.
• Support safe, quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.
• Clean patient environments, work areas, and equipment, and report equipment malfunctions to appropriate department or unit personnel.
• Demonstrate high moral and ethical standards and advocate for privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient, staff, and organization data.
