About The Position

INTEGRIS Health is hiring a PRN Nurse Tech for the Abdominal Transplant IMC at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The position is day shift. The Nurse Tech performs personal patient care, assists with patient safety, performs specified treatments and diagnostic testing, and carries out selected sterile procedures within the role’s scope. Nurse Techs may not administer medications or independently assess patients. The position reports to the assigned Clinical leader. The role may involve additional or varied physical demands and respiratory fit-test requirements, as well as potential exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals. Standard precautions must be followed.

Requirements

Completion of one semester of nursing school with clinical experience at an eligible state-accredited nursing program.
Current BLS certification or completion within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Perform personal patient care tasks, including mouth care, making beds, bathing, perineal and hair care, shaving, backrubs, and emptying bedpans or urinals.
Assist with patient safety, including checking identification armbands, following fall protocols and restraint procedures, positioning patients, promoting rest and sleep, and reporting incidents or injuries.
Perform treatments such as urinary catheter care, enema administration, preparing sitz baths, applying compresses, and assisting with patient ambulation.
Conduct and document basic diagnostic testing, including vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, 12-lead EKGs, telemetry monitoring, pulse oximetry, and Doppler testing.
Perform selected sterile procedures, including specimen collection, wound care, tracheostomy care and suction, urinary catheterization, and tube feedings.
Retrieve and transport medications when needed.
Follow standard precautions.
