About The Position

Journey is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Nurse Scheduler to coordinate nursing schedules, help ensure appropriate staffing levels, and support the operational efficiency of its healthcare facility. The role develops and posts schedules, works with care team members to fill open shifts, maintains contact information, coordinates time-off requests, and monitors attendance records. The position may also require the scheduler to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Qualified Medication Assistant during critical staffing needs, subject to the requirements and essential functions of that role.

Requirements

Certification in the state as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Qualified Medication Assistant is required.
At least 6 months of experience scheduling Certified Nursing Assistants, Qualified Medication Assistants, and/or Nurses.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalent diploma is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and post work schedules in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy to meet staffing needs and requirements.
Build relationships with care team members to make contacts for open shifts and modify schedules when needed.
Maintain a current list of care team members’ contact numbers for call-ins.
Coordinate time-off requests and obtain approval from the Director of Nursing.
Notify the Executive Director and Director of Nursing about potential short or critical staffing levels.
Manage attendance records and any perfect-attendance or other attendance-related special pay programs offered by the company.
Report necessary information to HR/Payroll to support accurate time records.
When required during critical staffing needs, perform the duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant or Qualified Medication Assistant if certified, meeting the requirements and essential job functions for that role.
