About The Position

Journey is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Nurse Scheduler to coordinate nursing schedules, ensure appropriate staffing levels, and support the operational efficiency of its healthcare facility. The role develops and posts schedules, coordinates coverage for open shifts, and works with care team members and facility leadership to address staffing needs. The position may also require the scheduler to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Qualified Medication Assistant during critical staffing needs, subject to the applicable role’s requirements and essential job functions.

Requirements

Certified in the state as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Qualified Medication Assistant; required.
At least 6 months of experience scheduling Certified Nursing Assistants, Qualified Medication Assistants, and/or Nurses.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalent diploma is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and post work schedules in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy to meet staffing needs and requirements.
Build relationships with care team members to coordinate coverage for open shifts and modify schedules when required.
Maintain current contact numbers for care team members to support call-ins.
Coordinate time-off requests and obtain approval from the Director of Nursing.
Notify the Executive Director and Director of Nursing of potential short or critical staffing levels.
Manage attendance records and attendance-related special pay programs, such as perfect attendance, and report necessary information to HR/Payroll so time records are accurately captured.
When required during critical staffing needs, perform duties as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Qualified Medication Assistant if certified, meeting the requirements and essential job functions of that role.
