Requirements
- Accredited Program: Nursing (Required)
- BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE), BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)
- Registered Nurse Compact License (RN LICENSE COMPACT) - Compact RN Multistate, Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
- Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Must be a new graduate with less than six (6) months as an Acute Care Registered Nurse or less than twelve (12) months as a Non-Acute Care Registered Nurse.
- Nurse Residency Program requires graduation from an accredited nursing program within the last twelve (12) months or no more than twelve (12) months of Non-Acute Care RN experience or less than 6 months of Acute Care RN experience.
- RN Fellowship Refresh to Acute Care Track requires an ineligibility for Nurse Residency Program including graduation from an accredited nursing program over twelve (12) months before hire or a three (3) year period of non-practicing acute care experience.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and family; provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, spiritual and psychosocial support needs.
- Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
- May precept student nurses and new hires.
