About The Position

This program is designed for newly licensed Registered Nurses or nursing students nearing graduation. Participants will engage in comprehensive training and development, including required courses and hands-on experience with a preceptor. The program aims to support professional growth and ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Requirements

  • Valid Registered Nurse license and less than one year of experience within the department of hire.
  • Nursing school student with an anticipated graduation date within the next six months (Associates or Bachelor’s degree program).
  • Graduated nursing school and pending NCLEX.
  • A valid RN license in Ohio is required prior to the start date.
  • Current BLS/CPR card (or identified plan with Residency Coordinator to obtain immediately after start date).

Responsibilities

  • Align with all department requirements including skills, schedule, and FTE.
  • Participate in the Nurse Residency Program and its educational support components.
  • Participate in Basic ECG course at Wayne HealthCare.
  • Participate in American Heart Association ACLS course at Wayne HealthCare.
  • Participate in any other certification class required (PALS, TNCC, NRP, EFM, etc).
  • Be open to learning new skills and professional development.
  • Ask questions as you grow.
  • Utilize supportive components that are aligned for your development and safety.
  • Prepare for class and participate with the group.
  • Stay with your preceptor while assigned to ensure best learning opportunities and safety considerations are met.
