Nurse Practitioner, Weekends
About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Nurse Practitioner for weekend work at its South Bend, Indiana location. The position provides medical care to clients receiving drug and alcohol detox and inpatient rehabilitation services at a 54-bed residential facility. The Nurse Practitioner develops individual treatment plans, monitors clients’ medical care, manages medications, and coordinates with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to support clients’ participation in treatment. The role also includes ordering and reviewing medications, urine drug screens, and laboratory tests, maintaining medical documentation, and managing client appointments.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a medical field and related certifications.
- Valid state medical license.
- Federal DEA certification.
- Acute observational and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and multitasking skills.
Nice To Haves
- Three to five years of experience in a related clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Create individual medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management for each client throughout treatment.
- Provide quality medical care to stabilize patients and enable them to fully engage in treatment.
- Update pharmacy orders; create urine drug screen, medication, and laboratory orders; and review and address urine drug screen and laboratory results.
- Collaborate with extended medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
- Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
- Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
