About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Nurse Practitioner for weekend work at its South Bend, Indiana location. The role provides medical care to clients receiving detox and inpatient rehabilitation services at a 54-bed residential facility. The Nurse Practitioner creates individualized treatment plans, monitors clients, manages medications, and coordinates care with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams. The position also involves ordering and reviewing tests and maintaining medical documentation and appointment schedules.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a medical field and related certifications.
- Valid state medical license.
- Federal DEA certification.
- Acute observational and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and multitasking skills.
Nice To Haves
- Three to five years of experience in a related clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Create individualized medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management throughout each client's treatment.
- Provide medical care to stabilize patients and support their engagement in treatment.
- Update pharmacy orders and create UDS, medication, and laboratory orders; review and address UDS and laboratory results.
- Collaborate with extended medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
- Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
- Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
