About The Position
The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients seeking urgent medical attention as well as occupational health services. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. Urgent care centers are open seven days a week, and the Nurse Practitioner will work three 12-hour shifts per week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Requirements
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in New Jersey.
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
- Active New Jersey CDS and DEA licenses.
- BLS certification.
- Obtain National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners certification within six months of accepting the job.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of two years of experience in urgent care or an emergency room is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and obtain medical histories.
- Perform DOT physicals.
- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, lab work, and EKGs.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and therapies.
- Provide patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Perform minor procedures, such as suturing, splinting, and wound care.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.
