About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner will perform focused, in-person medical assessments for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA disability benefits process. The role includes reviewing electronic medical records through a secure web portal, documenting exam findings, completing required VA forms, and providing medical opinions based on assessment findings. The role does not involve treatment or prescribing medication; disability determinations are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

This is an in-person, part-time position scheduled three days per week from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a caseload of approximately 3–5 Veterans per day. A computer and the tools needed for documentation are provided. The position has no on-call duties, and training and ongoing support are provided.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license.
• Comfort using technology to review records and complete documentation.
• Strong analytical skills to review medical records and assessment data.
• Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with electronic documentation and web-based portals.
• Professional and empathetic demeanor when interacting with Veterans.
• Compassionate approach and dedication to supporting the Veteran community.
