About The Position

Vista Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our healthcare team. The Nurse Practitioner will provide high-quality, patient-centered care by assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and chronic medical conditions. The NP will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive healthcare services and promote positive patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current Illinois licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification through a nationally recognized certifying body.
  • Current DEA registration and Illinois Controlled Substance License (or ability to obtain).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two (2) years of Nurse Practitioner experience in primary care, urgent care, hospital medicine, or specialty practice.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, if applicable.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR).

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and conducting physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures, and imaging studies.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Illinois law and organizational policies.
  • Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention, treatment plans, medications, and healthy lifestyle practices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, accreditation, and organizational standards.
