About The Position

CVS Health’s MinuteClinic provides affordable, accessible, comprehensive, high-quality care for patients, families, and communities. The Nurse Practitioner delivers holistic, evidence-based primary and family care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning. Care includes education and treatment related to pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted infection prevention, and safer sex practices. The role also orders and administers immunizations and injections and provides evidence-based vaccine counseling and education. The position includes patient appointments and routine examinations, diagnostic testing, counseling on healthy lifestyle choices, and coordination with other healthcare professionals to maintain comprehensive care plans. Nurse Practitioners encourage patients to participate actively in their health and well-being through health screenings, behavioral health and wellness services, and chronic condition management. Administrative duties include opening and closing the clinic, inventory, patient follow-up, insurance verification, payment collection, and maintaining a clean environment. Patient charting and follow-up are completed in the clinic during the shift. This is a full-time float role with every-other-weekend work. Requirements

At least two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent.
Complete the DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment.
Depending on the market, proficiency in speaking and writing additional languages may be required; Spanish is among the languages mentioned.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including the ability to perform CPR and operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Pass a FIT test and wear the provided respirator mask when protocol requires.
Master’s degree-level Family Nurse Practitioner program with current National Board Certification and a license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the state of employment; alternatively, in select states, a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or another health-related master’s degree or equivalent experience together with a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies), with current National Board Certification and a state-of-employment license to practice in the role.

Nice To Haves

For applicants with less than one year of work experience as a licensed provider, a prior student precepting rotation with MinuteClinic is preferred but not required.
Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide evidence-based primary and family care, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning.
Provide education and treatment for pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted infection prevention, and safer sex practices.
Order and administer immunizations and injections, and provide evidence-based vaccine counseling and education to patients and parents.
Handle patient appointments and perform routine examinations to support positive health outcomes.
Perform diagnostic tests to help diagnose and treat injuries or illnesses.
Discuss healthy lifestyle choices with patients and encourage active participation in their health and well-being.
Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to maintain a comprehensive plan of care.
Provide health screenings, behavioral health and wellness services, and chronic condition management.
Perform administrative duties, including opening and closing the clinic, managing inventory, following up with patients, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and maintaining a clean environment.
Complete patient charting and follow-up in the clinic during the shift.
