About The Position

At NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/The Allen Hospital, the Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner independently assesses patients’ conditions and rapidly arranges multidisciplinary care. The role involves caring for patients across all life spans, providing medication management, participating in initial patient intakes, and serving as a consultant. Nurse Practitioners collaborate with nurses, paramedics, physicians, and other professionals, using advanced techniques and technologies to support emergency care. This per diem position is based in the Emergency Department and works a day shift from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM. The position offers flexible scheduling, shared clinical decision-making, inspirational leadership, and supportive colleagues. The role requires on-site presence; employees should live within a commutable distance of NewYork-Presbyterian, and travel expenses will not be reimbursed.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Nursing.
Current New York State Nurse Practitioner license, or willingness to obtain one.
Current New York State Registered Nurse license, or willingness to obtain one.
BCLS certification.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of Nurse Practitioner experience in an Emergency Department.
Emergency room Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner experience.
National certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the specialty of practice.
