About The Position
This is a locum tenens position for a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery. The role involves providing coverage for 1 to 2 weeks per month through 2027. The practice is hospital-based, focusing on adult and geriatric populations with an average daily census of 20-26 patients. The facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center. Responsibilities include managing post-operative care, conducting emergency surgeries, handling consultations, and performing vein harvesting. The provider will utilize the Epic EMR system for documentation.
Requirements
- Board certified in Vascular Surgery (mandatory).
- Active Ohio medical license or a compact license (mandatory).
- Current ACLS certification (mandatory).
- Active DEA registration (mandatory).
- Clean background check with no malpractice claims or licensure issues (mandatory).
- Minimum of 5 years in Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgery (mandatory).
- Must have ACLS certification.
- Must possess a valid license to practice in Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Management of post-operative care for cardiothoracic and vascular patients.
- Conduct emergency surgeries related to cardiothoracic and vascular issues.
- Handle consultations and referrals from the Emergency Department, Cath Lab, and other hospital services.
- Skilled in vein harvesting for cardiac procedures.
- Assisting in surgeries.
- Writing and managing prescriptions.
- Coordinating comprehensive patient care.
- Rounding on patients.
- Interpreting and ordering diagnostic tests.
- Retrieval of vascular tissues for bypass conduit use.
