About The Position

The award-winning physicians at Lehigh Valley Heart and Vascular Institute are all board-certified, many having served fellowships or received additional training with leading programs. Our expert clinicians utilize continuing medical education to further research and enhance collaboration, leading to better patient outcomes. This is a non-surgical 13-hour shift position for coverage of the 11-bed cardiothoracic surgery ICU (Open Heart Unit). The shift will rotate, 2 weeks days/2 weeks nights, with 2 weekends per month. The role involves working in conjunction with the attending cardiothoracic surgeon, and non-surgical providers, for the medical care of cardiothoracic surgical patients. Duties include managing post cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, ECMO, LVAD, bedside procedures, and assisting in inpatient practice needs. The CRNP will perform initial evaluation, history, and physical examination of all assigned patients, and placement of invasive monitoring lines including central venous catheters, dialysis lines, and arterial access. Participation in ongoing education, quality, and research projects is expected, as is contributing to service-related databases and educating patients and families during their inpatient course. Requirements

Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified
A Valid Pennsylvania Medical License or ability to obtain one is required
Graduate from accredited educational program for Nurse Practitioners
Experience as an independent clinician required

Responsibilities
