About The Position

American Family Care (AFC) is hiring a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide outpatient urgent care. The role offers a supportive clinical environment, autonomy, and flexibility, with a schedule commitment of one full shift per week during operating hours, one weekend per month (consecutive Saturday and Sunday, covering the weekly shift), and one holiday per year. There are no overnights or on-call duties.

The provider assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients of all ages; manages acute conditions, infections, and injuries; performs minor procedures; conducts physicals; orders and interprets diagnostic tests; counsels patients on care plans and preventive health; documents care; and collaborates with supervising physicians and team members. Requirements

• Be a Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) with an active state license, or a Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) with an active state license.
• Have at least 2 years of experience in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care.
• Be skilled in urgent care procedures and comfortable in a fast-paced clinic.
• Have excellent communication skills and a patient-centered mindset.
• Hold active BLS certification or obtain it within the defined onboarding period.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute conditions, infections, and injuries.
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision and drainage.
• Conduct comprehensive physicals, including DOT and employment exams.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, X-rays, and EKGs.
• Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and team members to ensure quality care.
