About The Position

This role involves providing comprehensive primary care services under the direction of the Operations Manager and a supervising physician. Responsibilities include conducting annual health examinations, managing routine follow-ups, and treating acute and chronic medical problems. The position also requires assisting in patient care, providing diagnostic assessments, initiating consultations and referrals, and promoting effective communication within the practice and with external healthcare providers. Additionally, the role involves providing clinical training to staff, interacting with visiting nurses and hospice agencies, and counseling patients. A key aspect of the role is to consistently provide service excellence and to identify and recommend process improvements.

Requirements

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or higher (for NP)
Currently licensed as a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (for NP)
US Department of Justice DEA Registration (required if prescribing)
Masters from a program accredited by the ARC-PA (for PA)
Currently licensed as a Physician’s Assistant (PA) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (for PA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (obtain within 30 days of position start offered within)

Nice To Haves

2 years’ experience as Nurse Practitioner (for NP)
2 years’ experience as a Physician Assistant (for PA)

Responsibilities

Provide annual health examinations, routine follow-up and evaluation, and treatment of acute and chronic medical problems of patients under the direction of the Operations Manager and supervising physician.
Assist in the care of specific patients, provide diagnostic assessment and therapeutic services to ill or injured patients.
Initiate and arrange consultations and referrals.
Promote cooperation and develop open lines of communication with patients, employees, physicians, administrators, and other personnel.
Provide clinical training and education to clinical MACC staff.
Interact with staff of Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice, and other private agencies to provide comprehensive patient care.
Treat and counsel patients in a medical office and communicate with out-patients.
Perform all responsibilities/duties required by the position and practice to assure that the needs of the patient are served.
Perform other work-related duties as requested/directed.
Consistently provide service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.
Challenge current working practices, identify process improvement opportunities, and present recommendations and solutions to management.
