About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is seeking a certified advanced practice provider (PA-C or NP-C) to manage orthopedic trauma patients in collaboration with orthopedic trauma surgeon(s). The position involves direct clinical management using approved protocols and procedures, as well as appropriate medical consultation. The APP will work closely with the Orthopedic Trauma Medical Director and other trauma service members to evaluate new trauma patients in the Emergency Room, provide direction to hospital personnel regarding patient management, and manage inpatient orthopedic fracture patients. This role also includes work in the operating room and outpatient clinic settings. The qualified APP must demonstrate comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care. Candidates must hold a valid controlled substance registration with both the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and the DEA and should have past surgical and/or critical care experience in a hospital-based setting. Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) is a Level II Trauma Center with annual trauma volumes exceeding 1,250.

Requirements

  • Certified advanced practice provider (PA-C or NP-C).
  • Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho.
  • Valid controlled substance registration with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and the DEA.
  • Strong medical background.
  • Desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group.
  • Obtain Idaho medical licensure.

Nice To Haves

  • Past surgical and/or critical care experience in a hospital-based setting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage orthopedic trauma patients in collaboration with orthopedic trauma surgeon(s).

  • Cover group call during the day shift, including rotating weekends.
