This position is accountable for the provision of patient care and other activities as permitted by licensure and defined within Credentialing and Privileging documentation (hospital), Credentialing and Scope of Practice (Medical Group), Consultation and Referral Plan (DOPL) or other similar documentation as appropriate. As part of that patient care, this position is accountable to: deliver optimal patient care through effective clinical practice; education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others; consultation with other healthcare providers; and maintain current knowledge regarding options for optimal patient care and outcomes. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will join our Trauma Services team located at Utah Valley Hospital, a level II trauma center in Provo, Utah. Our team responds to trauma activations in the emergency center, intensive care, and other units throughout the hospital. On occasion, the APP will be asked to assist in trauma surgical procedures. Our Emergency Department provides 24-hour treatment, seven days a week, for patients of all ages, and all types of acute medical and trauma conditions, including emergent trauma injuries. Additionally, Utah Valley Hospital is a Joint Commission Certified stroke and cardiac receiving facility. Full time, this APP will work a rotating schedule that will require some day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. Shifts are typically either 8 or 12 hours in length. No required call time is anticipated.
