About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care. This Advanced Practice Provider role in the High-Risk Breast Program delivers comprehensive, coordinated care for patients at elevated risk for breast cancer. The position focuses on risk assessment, genetic counseling coordination, evidence-based surveillance, and risk-reduction strategies. The APP partners closely with breast surgery, oncology, genetics, radiology, and primary care to ensure timely evaluation, continuity of care, and patient education. This role enhances access, supports early detection and prevention efforts, and optimizes program capacity and patient outcomes. The provider will also ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment facility. The qualified candidate will show evidence of comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills and problem-solving abilities and commit to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care and having the ability to independently manage patients in an outpatient clinical setting is of importance. The APP must demonstrate a collaborative approach in working with the other team members and works in harmony with the surgeons to ensure the highest quality clinical outcomes while providing exceptional patient experience.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho.
  • Valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
  • For Physician Assistants: Successful completion of PA Graduate Program and NCCPA certification (PA-C).
  • A strong medical background.
  • A desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group.
  • Ability to obtain an Idaho medical licensure to maintain and strengthen the Health System's general internal program across all communities we serve.
  • Expertise and proficiency utilizing electronic health records.
  • Evidence of comprehensive assessment skills.
  • Expert clinical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care.
  • Ability to independently manage patients in an outpatient clinical setting.
  • Exceptional clinical skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a collaborative approach in working with the other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment facility.
  • Request timely consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
  • Independently manage patients in an outpatient clinical setting.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative approach in working with the other team members.
  • Work in harmony with the surgeons to ensure the highest quality clinical outcomes while providing exceptional patient experience.
