About The Position
Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) to join the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute, Cardiac Surgery Program at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center. This role is ideal for self-starters and will give an NP or PA the opportunity to be part of a growing and well-established group with a robust staff. Atlantic Health System’s Morristown Medical Center offers a superior cardiac surgery program, performing over 1200 open heart procedures annually and is ranked by U.S. News & World Report for cardiology & heart surgery. The Advanced Practice Professional will work in the 24-bed Critical Care unit, playing an integral role in the pre/post-operative care of cardiac surgery patients in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include initiating interventions and ordering diagnostic tests. Critical Care experience is preferred.
Requirements
- NP or PA
- Procedural based experience including but not limited to central line placements, a-line insertions
- Critical Care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Be integral in the pre/post operative care of cardiac surgery patients in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team that includes Surgeons, Intensivists, NPs & PAs.
- Have procedural based experience including but not limited to central line placements, a-line insertions.
- Initiate appropriate interventions and orders appropriate diagnostic tests.
