About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery in Flagstaff, AZ. The role involves clinical duties and on-call responsibilities in a hospital setting. The coverage period is from August 10, 2026, to August 17, 2026. The Nurse Practitioner will manage cardiothoracic surgical patients in CVICU and step-down units, perform daily assessments, rounds, and order management for post-operative CT surgery patients. They will also provide surgical first assist in cardiothoracic surgeries, including opening and closing, and perform bedside procedures such as temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and arterial line placement. The position requires participation in weeknight beeper call coverage.

Requirements

• Active AZ license
• BC/BE in Physician Assistant
• DEA Required
• BLS, ACLS (AHA) certifications
• Minimum 3 years in cardiothoracic surgery with EVH experience
• Proficient with EVH (Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting)
• Temporary Pacemaker Removal
• Chest Tube Removal
• IABP Removal
• Aline Placement

Responsibilities

• Manage cardiothoracic surgical patients in CVICU and step-down units.
• Perform daily assessments, rounds, and order management for post-operative CT surgery patients.
• Provide surgical first assist in cardiothoracic surgeries, including opening and closing.
• Perform bedside procedures: temporary pacemaker, chest tube, IABP removal, and arterial line placement.
• Participate in weeknight beeper call coverage from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
