About The Position

At UF Health Shands Hospital, our Abdominal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, comprehensive and innovative care to our medical-surgical patient populations, specifically within the UF Health Liver Transplant programs. In this role, the APP will operate in a highly autonomous practice setting, while collaborating with both the abdominal transplant team and the colorectal surgery team to ensure high quality patient care is delivered. The duties of the APP include diagnosis, treatment, and provision of care to our patients, as defined by the APPs scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Must meet requirements set forth by the Medical Staff Office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse within UF Health Shands Hospital and/or the Shands UF Healthcare Network, as applicable.
  • AGACNP required for Adult ICUs.
  • AGACNP required for Emergency Medicine.
  • PNP-AC required for Pediatric ICU.
  • NNP required for Neonatal ICU.
  • APRN with RNFA required for Surgical/Operative Adult.
  • AGACNP, AGPCNP, or FNP required for Adult Clinic/Primary Care.
  • PNP or FNP required for Pediatric Clinic/Primary Care.
  • CNM or APRN with Florida license to practice midwifery required for Nurse Midwife.
  • PMHNP required for Psychology/Psychiatry.
  • Current and clear license (or eligible to be licensed) as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.
  • BLS is required.

Nice To Haves

  • ICU Experience preferred for AGACNP in Adult ICUs.
  • Emergency Medicine Experience preferred for AGACNP in Emergency Medicine.
  • NICU experience preferred for NNP in Neonatal ICU.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis, treatment, and provision of care to patients as defined by the APP's scope of practice.
