About The Position

UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking experienced Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to join its urgent care team in the greater Pittsburgh area and locations across Pennsylvania and West Virginia. In partnership with UPMC Health System, the organization operates urgent care centers across the two states. Clinicians provide care for a wide variety of concerns in an acute care setting, with patient scheduling designed to support efficient, safe care and team wellness. Centers use an integrated EPIC electronic medical record, point-of-care testing, and on-site X-ray. Each team member has a primary home center and nearby secondary centers. The role offers scheduling flexibility for vacations and wellness days, but requires weekend shifts and limited on-call availability. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for full-time hires.

Requirements

At least 1 year of full-time Emergency Medicine experience, or 2 years of Urgent Care experience; 2 years of Family Medicine experience may be considered.
Experience treating patients of all ages in an acute care setting.
Comfort with minor procedures, including sutures, casts, and splints.
Ability to provide preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays.
Physician Assistants must have a master’s degree and NCCPA certification.
Nurse Practitioners must have a master’s degree and ANCC or AANP certification.
Weekend shifts and limited on-call availability are required.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat patients of all ages in an acute care setting.
Perform minor procedures such as sutures, casts, and splints.
Provide preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays.
Collaborate with an on-site Radiologic Technologist and Medical Assistants as a clinical team leader.
Share clinical experience and training with other clinicians and staff.
Participate in shared decision-making and clinical problem-solving.
