About The Position

University of Minnesota Physicians seeks an enthusiastic, independent Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a growing Urology team in the Twin Cities. The candidate will be required to perform history and physicals, comprehensive review of systems, and thorough chart reviews as well as prescribing medications/ therapies, ordering diagnostic tests, performing minor therapeutic procedures, and providing peri-operative evaluations. The role functions at a very high level of autonomy, with close MD availability for decision making. The practice will incorporate a majority of outpatient care with some inpatient responsibilities and a future possibility for OR first-assisting. The outpatient focus will be on female urology and pelvic health, with the clinic primarily located in M Health Fairview Edina with outreach clinics in the East Metropolitan area. Consultations will be predominantly in-person with virtual options available in the future. Inpatient responsibilities will include post-operative assessments, rounding on an inpatient Urology cohort, and completing hospital or ED consults at the M Health Fairview Woodwinds and M Health Fairview St. John’s Hospitals. The position is 1.0 FTE, days, with call responsibilities. The schedule will vary between 7 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday, and will include some weekends and holidays. Infrequent cross-coverage responsibilities at other M Health hospitals may also be required. Specific hours/days may be adjusted to support patient, clinic, and staff needs with appropriate notification.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program
  • Eligible or certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP
  • Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP’s)
  • Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges
