About The Position

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Urology . The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for providing outpatient care to urology patients. Care of this population includes management of adult and geriatric populations ages 18 and above with a practice panel primarily consisting on cancer and general urology; hematuria, kidney cyst, incontinence (male/female), and overactive bladder, conduct comprehensive health history and physical assessment of patients. Shifts: 8-hour day shifts; Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm Outpatient Key Responsibilities: Ability to incorporate into practice theoretical concepts and advanced clinical skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary health care team members. Analytical ability necessary to diagnose patients and to develop and implement plans of action for long and short term management of acute and chronic health. Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary health care team to enhance collaboration and problem-solving. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in order to provide information to patients and health care personnel.

Requirements

  • MSN/DNP from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program.
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN and CRNP licenses are required.
  • Current certifications as an FNP in the State of Maryland or a letter from MBON approving practice as a Nurse Practitioner Graduate while awaiting completion of JHH affiliate credentialing as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
  • If you will be ordering or referring items or services for Medicare beneficiaries and you do not already have an enrollment record in the Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership Systems (PECOS), you will need to submit an enrollment application to Medicare to be eligible for employment.
  • You must be fully credentialled by The Johns Hopkins Hospital medical board with staff privileges to start working.
