About The Position

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated Urology Nurse Practitioner to join an employed position within a busy, well-respected practice, supported by a strong referral base and the full resources of a robust health system network. The Team & Structure: Join a highly collaborative outpatient team consisting of 5 expert urologists with a dedicated supervising physician structure provided by Drs. Gilson, Boger, Gallentine, Kottwitz, and Zenni. Call Structure & Patient Volume: Manage an average daily clinic volume of 20 patients per day with occasional weekend call support. Practice Setting & Systems: Work in a modern, partial remote-capable outpatient care environment leveraging key clinical technologies including AthenaHealth, Sunrise Clinical Manager, PACS, Order Facilitator, One Content, and IHIE.

Requirements

  • Master's degree of Nursing required.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Nurse Practitioner specializing in Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Candidates must hold a valid state license and required licensure/education level as a Physician Assistant (PA), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP).

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of dedicated clinical practice experience is preferred, with a strong preference for candidates possessing prior urology clinical experience (comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided otherwise).
  • Prior exposure to or familiarity with in-office urological procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate accurate diagnoses and treat acute and chronic urologic conditions by conducting thorough patient evaluations, medical histories, and physical examinations.
  • Develop, execute, and manage comprehensive treatment plans for urology patients while ordering, performing, and interpreting critical diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
  • Assist with and perform vital in-office urologic procedures including prostate injections/therapies, interstim, percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation, pessary fittings, stent removals, and catheterizations.
  • Empower individuals through comprehensive patient education regarding medications, procedures, and follow-up care, while seamlessly managing the follow-up care of postoperative patients.
  • Safely prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations while maintaining highly accurate and timely medical documentation in the EMR.
  • Capitalize on academic connection potentials with UE/USI NP and PA students.
