About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner – Oncology for an exciting Travel or Local job in Syracuse, NY. This role involves conducting comprehensive health assessments, collaborating with physicians on patient care plans, and performing patient care functions with minimal supervision. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for accurate documentation, patient and family education, utilizing prescriptive authority, and participating in interdisciplinary care coordination. Maintaining compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Nurse Practitioner experience.
  • Active New York State Nurse Practitioner License/Registration (or eligibility required).
  • Certification aligned with NP specialty area of practice in New York State.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Current ACLS Certification.
  • Medicare NPI Number or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment health clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior inpatient or acute care experience.
  • Experience working in collaborative physician-led care environments.
  • NCCPA Certification (for Physician Assistant candidates, if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments for patients in an acute care setting.
  • Collaborate closely with attending physicians to develop, implement, and adjust patient care plans.
  • Perform the majority of patient care functions with minimal supervision and orientation.
  • Document patient encounters accurately, including subjective and objective findings, assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Ensure medical records are complete, timely, concise, and compliant with clinical standards.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care.
  • Utilize prescriptive authority in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care coordination to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
