About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join a Hematology/Oncology team. The ideal candidate will have prior oncology experience and a strong inpatient clinical background. This role involves collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care, treatment planning, and patient education.
Requirements
- Current New York State Nurse Practitioner License and Registration.
- NP specialty certification consistent with practice area.
- Minimum one (1) year of Nurse Practitioner experience.
- Prior inpatient experience preferred.
- Medicare NPI number or eligibility to obtain one.
- Current CPR and ACLS Certifications.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
- Ability to complete pre-employment health clearance requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Hematology/Oncology or Oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in acute care or hospital-based settings.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
- Collaborate with attending physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients within the approved scope of practice.
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the EMR.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and disease management.
- Utilize prescriptive authority in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
- Deliver high-quality care to acute care patients with minimal supervision.
