Locum - Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine GA
About The Position
VES is seeking General Medicine Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments. This is a PRN, ongoing position. Providers can use their own office locations for these exams. The role involves interview-based exams with some physical assessments, such as range of motion testing and muscle strength testing. No prescribing or treatment is involved. Training will be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs), which must be submitted within 48 hours of exam completion. Record review is required in most cases, and follow-up administrative work like addendums and medical opinions will be necessary. DMA certification is available and can provide CME credits, but the client does not reimburse for DMA certifications or portal training.
Requirements
- General Medicine background or experience with compensation and pension exams
- Familiarity with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio systems
- Proficient in METs testing
- Proficient in evaluating and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions
- Own personal laptop (NO MACs)
- AANP Active and unrestricted full license
- Must be willing to complete DMA training to become DMA certified
- Must have current home address listed on CV
- Must provide a copy of ECFMG certificate if attended school in a different country
- Must be willing to perform Gen/Med exams
- Must have a Georgia State License
Nice To Haves
- Family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery background
- Experience with compensation and pension exams
- Experience with VES's provider portal
- Already DMA certified
Responsibilities
- Perform Compensation & Pension exams
- Perform Separation Health Assessments
- Conduct interview-based exams with some physical assessment (range of motion testing, muscle strength testing)

- Complete standardized forms
- Review medical records
- Perform follow-up administrative work (addendums, medical opinions, reading diagnostics)
